last blog :(

Hi there!
Well, this blog would be a little different for two reasons, first: this blog has to be more like a brief essay and second: it is the last one :(

Anyways, what I’m talking today it is about learning English, here in this group, this part of the year (cause I had English class just this semester). I can tell you that we are the first group from Physical therapy, together with another program, having these English classes included in our studies, like any other subject of the year, instead of other programs in this faculty, so we are favoured.

If I analyze these classes I would have to say some things.
I think it’s perfect that English classes are included in our studies, cause now a day it’s necessary and useful for our professional life, when we’ll work or develop in what we studied for.
Maybe we could do different activities, like exhibitions or show our work in the faculty, I don’t know.
Otherwise I think this part of the class, by “this part” I mean writing in our blog, was the one that I enjoyed the most, cause I had never done it before, I mean writing in English or Spanish things that I thought, and I liked it but not because of the idea that someone read what you write (because this is not the case, and I would not write if I knew someone really read what I’m writing, someone else than you Teacher Joe :D ), it is because it seems like I’m writing a letter, but for nobody in particular.
I also think that maybe in these classes more than learn (cause it’s difficult, and because we are all in different levels cause it’s hard to discriminate different knowledge of English by just one and virtual test) you reinforce what you know about this language, cause you are constantly practicing.

By this short review about our English class, I think the balance is positive. There are some “bad” points that could be fixed, but I hope that our experience as the first group can be useful for the next group, to make some things better and to maintain the good ones. I think we, I mean our little group, were lucky for your presence, Teacher Joe, cause we could heard and talk to an American person, and hear the authentic accent.
Thank you Teacher Joe for your patience and kindness, you were always ready for my stupids questions.

future challenges

Hi there!!
Today we were assigned a difficult and interesting topic.. how does our program or our profession influences in different aspects of life, not just mine, yours too.

I personally think that a person with professional studies, or just energy, can change or help in a lot of things, if you're interested, obviously. But in my case, I think there're a few things that I could do to improve aspects of my own program or not related to it necessary.

Speaking of education, I think there're thing that must be changed, but as a physical therapist I could help in teaching things related to it, like in this same University, or helping professionals to improve their carreer. Or by my own future day a day work, where I'll be constantly teaching people to improve part of their life by minimal acts, excercises or just advices.

In technology we need help with prosthesis and new and better instrument to develop our work properly. Maybe its necessary to be more related to other countries, countries that had already improve in that area. But its positive to heel that there are programs dedicated to collect money, for example, for this objectives (money to improve machines, money to hire people to help others who need, etc).

Social matters is where, us as physical therapist , do our work basicly, and where the rest of the people live and do their own job too.. so this is where we can improve "easly". We can help people to develop in a positive and better way, with their environmet, with other people, with day a day things.

And it's not everything about teaching, I think (and as everything you do, in general) in this same interaction with your pacients and your environment you also learn, and that's important too, cause you must learn, you must know people's problem, technlogy problems or education problems to improve them, you must know them from the people that are being affected or involved to know how to turn things to a postive path, to solve them. That's the better part in this profession I think, cause you can help, maybe in a liiiittle way, but at the end you can "make things work".

money issues...

Hi there once again!
Today we're talking about money, problematic isn't it? Today talking about money it's to talk about everything... anything you imagine it's related with money (almost, there're are a few things that are excluded).
Personally, I'm organized with my money (it's not really MY money, is the money my parents give to me), I try to save a little bit of my money every month to spend it in things I need, or things I want to buy, or a future present.
I usually do not borrow money from other people, I don't like having debts. But if someone ask if I can lend him some, I don't have problems (if they give it back someday, of course).
About bills, in my house I do not pay them, my parents do that dirty job. But I do have a bank account, that is very useful to be organized, cause you know how much you have, how much you can spend, in what did you spend it.. you know every move that you do with your money.

I think that public schools SHOULD teach chidren how to manage money, cause it's a very important subject for life now a days.. cause as I said, everything now is related with money and you need it, to progress, to organize your life.

By now, at my age, I preffer to enjoy things that aren't so related with money... sometimes they are so much better :)

improvements in my faculty

Hi there!
Today we're talking about what our faculty needs.. I think that it needs some important improvement, in infrastructure particullary.

I think it is a little bit old, just a little bit :) I think that there're some spaces that need to be remodelled, like the entrance.. cause this faculty it's very important here in Chile, because it belongs to this well known University.
As the entrance, the halls, some classrooms, the yard, green areas could be rebuilted or changed there are also some old constructions that still here and they aren't used, or they doesn't seem to be used, so there's space that could be used in a better way, I think.

I also think that this faculty could have more and cleaner women bathrooms, cause they are always occupied!! and not just occupied, there's a long role of us waiting for use them.. or maybe the problem is that the bathrooms are too far from each other and there's no toilet in them.. I know that this "problem" for some people could mean nothing, but for me it's important.

And the last thing I would like to change is the dogs.. there are too many, and there is no
limit for them to be.. they can be in the classroom or inside the University, in places that they shouldn't, in my opinion, be. But this one it's not a big problem, maybe it's better to them to be here than in any other place.

I honestly think that I wouldn't improve anything else that isn't related to the infrastructure, cause in academic aspect this faculty is excellent.

final days

Hi there!
today I'm talking nothing in particular.. just anything..
By these days, when the end of the year is coming soon, christmas too, when the good and bad things of the year is what you think of.. I was thinking in the students, those who want to start the University stage, those who must suffer the PSU process, those who are now in what I was last year.

During the process, I mean during your last year of school, you're too preocupied studying for PSU, that you really don't have time to enjoy your last moths with the people you're used to see every day or to enjoy the time you are expending with them.. that's the first period.

Once you take the PSU test, you think 'I'm done, I finished it', but sadly it is not that easy, I can say that you haven't passed through the worse part yet (sorry me being so melodramatic :) ).
Now you have to wait for the results, and you're crossing fingers to have the results your exhausting study deserves. With the waiting appears the pressure of your closest too, somepeople are even more preocupied for the results than you are.. and that can make you feel really nervous.

Then, when you know the result of your looong year, longs days of studying and stress, you have too possibilities (depending on your results, obviously). If you did well, congratulations!.. you can study what you dreamed of (if you have your future clear, and I can tell you, that's a privilege) by the other side, if you did not so well, or not how you expected to.. it's not so easy, but that doesn't mean you don't have options.. and I think that sometimes this way is easier.. cause, if you take a free year, you'll have the time that you didn't on your school's last year, you'll have time to think, to enjoy, to party, and to study (calmed)..

I just want to say that the whole process is too fast, the school's last year is too full of emotions.. and you also have to decide you're LIFE'S FUTURE, you have to decide too quickly what you are going to do the rest of your life.. it's a pretty important decision, and the PSU mode does not help, I think.

Hey! this it's just my opinion, cause it's a process that I wouldn't like to passed thourgh again.
I wish you luck and patience if this is your time!

places to visit in Santiago

Hi! long time no see!

Well, this time I'll talk you about what you can do in Santiago, what place to visit.. I have to tell you that I live in Santiago, but far away from the centre itself.. so I decided to talk you about what you can do in my little world, Pirque.

Pirque it's a little town in the south of Santiago, it's a place near the mountain range.. it's a beautiful place, with a lot of green areas and free of pollution, you'll find fields and animals everywhere.. it's a quiet place where you can be in touch with nature.
There you can visit a lot of interesting and original things. You can go to some vineyard, there is the well known Concha y Toro, Santa Alicia, and others. There are places where you can find original handcraft, like in the 'Pueblito de los Artesanos' there you can watch rodeo too, and eat tipical food, it's a really nice place! you must visit it!
You should go to the National Park Rio Clarillo, there you can spend the hole day and walk through the hills, watch the river coming directly from the mountain' snow, it's a beautiful enviroment.
There's a nice golf club, where you can play golf, of course, and what's most important, you have a spectacular view. There is a nice coffee shop with delicous cakes and natural cookies and drinks.
If you want to visit a different place, beside the historical part from Santiago's centre, you MUST visit Pirque and find out the countryside from this city.

c.ya soon!

a country I would like to visit

I wish I could travel around the world at some time of my life and I would like to visit Europe and exotic places in Asia... but I really want to visit France, because people that has visited this country has told me that it's espectacular, the best place in the world... they have also told me that you MUST go with your couple, cause Paris it's the most romantic city in the world.
I would like to visit Greece too, to know a totally different place and culture, I think it's really exciting and they also have delicious food.
When I finish my program or while I'm studying, I will go to Europe, and I would visit as many places as my pocketbook will allow. Now I just have to save money, cause this trip is not that easy, it means a loooot of money and a lot of work. I really hope that this plan works, because it's one of my golds in life, I think it's great knowing other cultures and other people.
Meanwhile I should focus on my studyies, enjoy this awesome years and, of course, cross my own country, that way I can say that I've visited every city of my little world.
